From the famed Summer Steelhead run of the Siletz to the monster Chinook of the Big Elk these seven rivers are some of the best Oregon has to offer. All six rivers are located within 2 hours drive of each other easily providing the opportunity to fish a different river each day of your trip. Big Elk Creek
A tributary of the Yaquina, this overlooked drainage holds 50% of the Yaquina Fall Chinook run. It also fishes well for Sea-Run Cutthroats and Winter Steelhead. Anglers may choose to walk the upper river or fish the estuary from the boat.

Kilchis River
Near Tillamook, this quaint river is home to Oregon‘s largest run of Chum Salmon. You’ll lazily drift this scenic section for Chums, as well as, Chinook and Sea-Run Cutthroat.
Peak Season for Chums: October 15 - November 15 (season closes Nov. 15)
Peak Season for Chinook: October 1 - December 15


McKenzie River
World famous and with good reason, this beautiful river flows Southwest out of the Central Cascades until its' confluence with the Williamette at Eugene. Float several different sections of river for Summer Steelhead, native and stocked Rainbows as well as Cutthroat Trout.
Peak Season for Trout: March 1 - October 31
Peak Season for Summer Steelhead: June 1- September 30


North Fork Nehalem River
This river is famous to anglers for some of Oregon’s largest steelhead. A twenty pound Winter Steelhead is not uncommon. Walk-in and sight cast to these Winter giants or fish from the drift boat.
Peak Season for Winter Steelhead: January 1 - March 31(season closes Mar. 31)


Nestucca River
The Nestucca is 53 river miles long and flows in a west-southwest direction to Nestucca Bay. It meanders through several small coastal towns such as Beaver, Hebo, Cloverdale and then dumps into the Pacific at Pacific City. The Nestucca offers a good run of sea-run cutthroat trout and a great run of fall Chinook Salmon. However, this river is most well know for its’ large run of early hatchery and late wild Winter Steelhead. In addition to the Siletz the Nestucca is one of the few coastal rivers that fish well year round.

Salmon River
Positioned just North of Lincolon City this small river provides the best opportunity to catch Coho and Chinook on a fly while still fishing in the estuary.
Peak Season for Chinook: September 15- October 31
Peak Season for Coho: September 15 - October 31


Siletz River
One of Oregon’s most famous steelhead rivers, the Siletz has a considerable amount of Summer and Winter Steelies. It also supports an early run of big Chinook and great dry fly fishing for trout.
Peak Season for Chinook: September 1 - November 15
Peak Season for Sea-Runs: September 1 - October 31
Peak Season for Winter Steelhead: November 20 - March 31
Peak Season for Summer Steelhead: June 1 - October 31
